Haha! I'm back readers! And guess what I got with me? The first of the next wave of the Death Valet character bios!
That's right, the cast is still being assembled, and for now, let's see the profile of the sister of our everyman lead Winston...Betty Pike.

Name: Betty Pike

Bio: Betty Pike is Winston’s sister and an international traveler/adventurer.
Her brother had some interest in traveling outside his city but he never worked up enough interest in doing so. Betty was an opposite in this, and had a fascination with exploring and traveling ever since childhood. She tended to wander around the town they lived in, looking for adventures but she never actually found any…until one day she accidentally wandered into a semi-truck’s trailer and was dragged off to another town in South Carolina.
Back in Richmond, her family was panicking over the mysterious disappearance of Betty, but miraculously, instead of being lost or panicky like most children would, she attempted to make it on her own over there…but the life of living on the street quickly turned very difficult due to the fact she had almost no money, and especially since her family would be very worried about her, she decided to make her way back to them.
After about two weeks, mostly by traveling on foot and finding various means of sustenance (generally through scrounging around whatever food she could find wherever she could find it), and shoplifting a road map (which she paid back later) to make sure she got home, she succeeded, both relieving her parents and brother, and impressing them all by how she managed to make it back. She was still punished via a month’s grounding, but only because of her recklessness and to teach her that even if you’re good about taking care of yourself, one still needs to be responsible.
However, this did not stop her wanderlust; rather it only poured the fuel on.
The experience (and her the aforementioned punishment) did teach her that she couldn’t just wander around unprepared, and instead chose to fix this problem by studying up on survival tactics and learning how to develop her inner cunning, and over the years began to develop into a girl with a lot of guile.
Around age 13, there was a bank robbery in her town, where thieves stole a large sum of money, framing a friend of her father for the deed.
Betty secretly roamed the streets, using her newfound cunning in an experiment to try and get the real thieves, like a child sleuth she managed to figure out who the real criminals were, and who the real inside man was.
Despite the immense danger that came from this quest, she even managed to succeed in winning in a physical fight against the mastermind of the scheme himself. The result was that she wound up with both the respect of her brother and a reward from a very grateful bank.
She began to bond more with her brother and grew quite close with him, and the reward? Well she spent all the money on a light blue third generation Chevrolet Camaro…and forgot that she was too young to drive, and had to wait until she was older to actually use it, but Betty was an adventurous tomboy with interests that included cars, she was so glad to actually have the car she didn’t mind the wait.
In the next few years she began to hone her skills further, becoming more independent (in more ways than one, as when she went through high school she tended to go through a lot of boyfriends) and going on other adventures when they presented themselves, none of them were as big as her other two previous ones though.
Then one day at the age of eighteen, after she’d graduated high school she stunned her family with a choice to not go to college at all, and rather roam the Earth. Winston, aware of her wanderlust more than anyone else, was not surprised at all though.
Just before she left however she asked Winston if he’d want to travel with her, the brother might have admired her but he was not interested in, halfway due to fear, the idea of traveling off with her so he declined. She understood and said her goodbyes before she left.
As Betty left the area, she began to travel around the world and had a series of adventures, which include the following:
* Traveling into Mexico and ending up taking down a drug cartel that planned to overthrow Central America.
* Helping capture a serial killing centaur in Greece.
* Running into a gang of criminals who were previously enemies of detectives Sexton Blake and Nick Carter, she was almost ran over by them when they were attempting to escape a bank they’d robbed. She wound choosing to help get them caught by tracking them down…and in the process got involved in a gang war they got in with the Irish Mafia by accident. She still managed to escape certain death and turn the tables on her would-be killers.
* Spent six months in a village in China where she went under the tutelage of a secret society of female ‘Sex gurus’ and saved them from a Tong bent on selling them as sex slaves.
* Journeyed to the Island of the Kaiju and wound up as the crucial part of a large land battle between Kaiju forces and the opposing forces, which were a, quote unquote, “Army of perverts led by a giant, three headed, space dragon.”
* Wound up in Brazil to meet with a friend of hers, whom she wound up having to rescue from a criminal organization composed of extremely hammy Japanese criminal masterminds and Nazis with a fondness for genetic engineering.
* Journeyed to a space station in the asteroid belt when accidentally selected as part of a repopulation scheme by a rogue and homicidal AI with megalomaniac tendencies and a fondness for grotesque genetic experiments. She ultimately had to deal with a large amount of vicious creatures and the psychotic robots under the control of the machine, but ultimately managed to destroy it and return to Earth.
* Went on a treasure hunt to try and uncover the missing treasure of Captain Slaughterbeard, wound up having to compete against a gang of harpies, a siren treasure hunter who was unspeakably ruthless, and a hungry kraken in order to find it but ultimately succeeded.
* Investigating into the disappearance of a missing scientist who was kidnapped by terrorists who wanted to build a giant bomb that used a dimension portal creating machine that could destroy half the planet. Managed to save the scientist and expose the terrorists, albeit not without a considerable level of difficulty.
And these were just some of them. Presently however, she’s been occupied with a different kind of mission.
Six months prior to Death Valet, her (and by extension, Winston’s) parents were murdered in an explosion, no one ever figured out the cause of it but she had been investigating it for the previous months and is Hell-bent on finding who detonated the bomb and why, and soon enough it’ll take her to Hetelville…

Personality and Mannerisms: Betty Pike has, for pretty much her whole life, had a large sense of wanderlust. She’s very curious about new cultures and countries, and she wants to see the many sights and sounds one can find in the world.  She’s never found a place to call home…but she’s not interested in finding one, already enjoying living by herself in her nomadic lifestyle.
She’s thoroughly independent, while she is willing to take charity she generally tries to pull her own weight when traveling and use her own money to pay for things. Plus there’s also the fact she tends to travel by herself, though like before she’s not too stubborn to refuse help if she needs it.
Betty is quite clever, even Winston acknowledges that between the two she’s the smarter one, she doesn’t have a tendency to lord it over anyone though she can occasionally get a bit full of herself because of it, but this doesn’t happen often.
She’s also a tomboy with a large fascination with cars, the only thing she’s got a larger interest in than traveling, frequently attending car shows, reading car magazines (she may not have an official subscription but she frequently buys them), entering car rallies and races, and buying tickets to races.
Betty has a tendency to wisecrack at her enemies and taunt them, which she can often use to her advantage.
She has an adventurer’s spirit and is as brave as a lion, willing to face danger she faces head on (or at least just take on whoever’s threatening her) though she is cautious enough to keep her wits about her, lest she fall into someone’s trap.
Betty has a good heart, and is compassionate towards those in need (which is also one thing that tends to send her on adventures aside from her own curiosity), she’s also got a kind soul but is willing to engage in violence against people she feels deserve it and in defense of others. She is also quite friendly if you aren’t her enemy, and will help people she doesn’t even know (within reason) even if she’s just met them.
She loves her brother Winston very much, and is a bit concerned for his health. The two have always been close friends ever since they were kids, and still managed to stay in touch despite their different lifestyles. Winston’s secretly slightly envious of his sister due to how she’s had this incredible life yet he hasn’t really succeeded in life. However, he is unaware of her promiscuity and is in for a great shock when he finally finds out about it.
Betty has a considerable deal of patience, which isn’t really surprising due to how she’s a guile hero, however she does have her limits, they may be difficult to hit but when they are finally pushed, she can fly right off the handle and practically explode.
She is also quite promiscuous, having slept around (in contrast to Winston, who’s still a virgin) with a lot of men, befitting her life as a traveler, never sticking with just one man. Though the number of men she’s been with pales in comparison to women like Belinda and Julia (Betty’s total count is somewhere in the triple digit numbers, as opposed to the others, who’ve gone into four or five digit numbers in terms of ‘lay count’) and it’s not her biggest concern, so she doesn’t sleep around to the extent they do, but she does like it enough to not want to quit. Plus the fact she’s pretty good at it (after the sex gurus she temporarily lived with in China taught her their techniques) is another reason she likes to do this.
However, despite her being content and happy with the lifestyle she leads, Betty does tire a bit of not having somebody to love, part of these problems tend to come because she’s really just interested in an open relationship and none of the men she’s approached have actually wanted this kind of arrangement, and this is quite frustrating for her.
She’s also had some bad experiences in the past, while she’s made several friends, saved many lives and is generally satisfied with her life, she is a bit haunted by some of the bad experiences she’s had and the lives she wasn’t able to save, chief among these being her parents, whom she wants to avenge very much, feeling guilty that she wasn’t able to save them.

Powers, Skills, and Equipment: Betty is an adventurer, much like most of the cast and like them she is pretty badass…but unlike them, her strength comes from the fact that she’s very clever and generally tends to try and outthink her opponents, she’s no supergenius, just having become very savvy through a mixture of actual smartness and years of experience in dealing with criminals, monsters and the like.
However, Betty can fight and will if she has to. Granted she wasn’t formally trained in any particular martial art, though she did take a few classes in self-defense, her fighting style generally tends to mix up all the moves she knows, thinking on her feet, and is generally based around improvising. She’s also quite skilled in the use of improvised weapons and (similarly to Rorschach from Watchmen) can figure out how to find a potential weapon pretty much anywhere. She does have one real weapon that she keeps around, and it’s a tire iron that she’ll generally keep underneath her coat. She is somewhat skilled with firearms but generally doesn’t carry them due to the fact she can’t usually bring them into another country.
She’s well voiced in survival tactics, having learned up plenty on it after she got stranded away from home on her first ‘journey’, in truth she could actually survive out on her own in the wilderness pretty well but prefers not to, being more interested in residing in cities all over the world.
Betty is a skilled car mechanic, having once worked at a garage before she left her home, being a huge automotive enthusiast she took it upon herself to learn a lot about cars and during her travels she learned more. Due to both her experience and the years she’s spent personally fixing and fine tuning her car have caused her to develop great skill in fixing them, she’s also restored them for profit before and is no slouch there either.
As for driving, Betty has developed into an expert driver capable of winning numerous races and using her car as an improvised weapon. She doesn’t rig her Camaro up with gadgets or weapons either.
Lastly, in addition to her cunning, Betty is a skilled detective and tracker…these were skills she’d developed through all the adventuring she’s done in the past, and while she isn’t the best detective on Earth or the most highly skilled and relentless tracker in existence, she’s still able to do a fairly good job of both. And it’s these skills that have helped her figure out how the bomb that killed her parents was planted and detonated, but not who organized the whole thing.

Appearance:  Betty is an attractive, twentyseven year old woman with cropped red hair and green eyes. She has an hourglass figure (but not an exaggerated one), with D cup sized breasts and smooth skin…but despite what her looks may suggest, she’s not very feminine at all, and her facial expressions generally display her independent Tomboy attitude and she’s a sure relative of Winston’s (given how she’s his female twin), and her smiles generally tend to be of the ‘crafty’ variety. She’s also got a mole on her right thigh. For clothing she tends to wear blue jeans, a red sweater that has the image of a gear just over the spot where her right breast is, a brown trench coat that she tends to keep open, a pair of black combat boots, and a brown fedora that matches the coat.

Other: Betty still existed in the previous version of Death Valet but unlike that, this version is intended to be more of an adventurer, who has gone on some great adventures of her own, and a more fitting contrast to her everyman brother Winston. She also has some elements of a character I removed from the reboot who existed in the previous version of the story, Vivian was essentially a female Tintin expy (who would have been implied to have been a descendent of him) who went around having adventures, in this Betty was just a traveler.  So for this reboot I decided to make her an adventurer and a traveler both.
Now here's the first of the new character bios...the others in this new wave are Belinda Garth, Rod Garth, Jason Garth, The Kentucky Samurai, and Joshua Sanchez...though not in the order of posting.

Like you said I was reminded of a female Tintin or Lara Croft. She sounds like she has her own story to tell just as interesting as Alistair. Will their adventures intertwine occasionally like a guest star making a cameo in the series?
